You're Already on QuickBooks.
We Won't Try to Talk You Out of It.
We are a licensed CPA firm doing the bookkeeping, the cleanup and the monthly close inside the QuickBooks Online file you already have. If QuickBooks ever stops fitting your business we will say so, and if you decide to move we will run the migration. Until then it is a perfectly good place to keep your books.
The Challenge
QuickBooks is easy to start and easy to get wrong.
That is not a criticism of the software. It is what happens when a system designed to be usable by anyone gets used by everyone, for years, without an accountant ever looking at the file.
- A chart of accounts that grew one account at a time, so reports have forty rows and tell you nothing
- Bank feeds auto-categorising transactions into whatever they matched last time
- Undeposited Funds quietly growing into a number nobody can explain
- Reconciliations marked complete with an adjustment that made the difference go away
- Sales tax and payroll liabilities that do not agree with what was actually filed
- Books that technically balance and still cannot answer whether you made money last quarter
- A chart of accounts trimmed to what you actually report on
- Categorisation rules set deliberately, then checked rather than trusted
- Undeposited Funds cleared, and the deposit workflow fixed so it stops refilling
- Reconciliations that reconcile, with any difference explained rather than plugged
- Liabilities tied back to the returns that were filed
- A monthly close on a schedule, and reporting you can make a decision from
What's Included
Ordinary bookkeeping, done properly, in the file you already have.
Nothing gets migrated and there is no new software for anyone to learn. Your books stay in your file rather than in a second set kept somewhere you cannot see.
How We Take Over a QuickBooks File.
Review
We look at the file as it stands: chart of accounts, how transactions have been landing, and whether the reconciliations hold up.
Clean up
Whatever the review turns up, plus any catch-up. We fix the foundation before building a monthly rhythm on top of it.
Close
Monthly close on a schedule, inside your QuickBooks, with liabilities tied back to filings.
Advise
Closing the month is where the useful part starts. Quarterly tax planning, and a straight answer whenever you ask whether the setup still fits.
What you are paying for.
A CPA firm, not a bookkeeping shop
Most QuickBooks files are kept by a bookkeeper, which is fine until the year ends and nobody can tell you what the numbers mean for your return. We are a Texas-licensed CPA firm doing the same day-to-day work, with the tax consequences already in mind.
The same questions, asked earlier
A bookkeeper records what happened. A CPA records it already knowing how it will be taxed and what the IRS would want to see. Same file, different questions asked of it, and the answers arrive in June rather than the following April.
No reason to move you
We work in Xero and Zoho Books too, so nothing rides on which one you use. When we say QuickBooks is fine for you, you can believe it. And if you decide to move anyway, we will run the migration rather than talk you out of it.
QuickBooks Online Bookkeeping in Sugar Land, TX
We keep QuickBooks Online books for small businesses across Sugar Land, Fort Bend County and Greater Houston, and for clients well outside it, since the work happens in your file rather than across a desk. See our Sugar Land CPA page for the local picture, or how the engagement works for what the relationship looks like week to week.
FAQ
Questions about QuickBooks bookkeeping?
The questions we hear most often, answered straight.
If you decide to move, for those reasons or your own, we will run the migration. We do not gatekeep it, and we also work in Xero if that turns out to be the better home.
